MARIA ROBERTSON
3D ANIMATOR
During my final year at Escape Studios, I worked with a team to create a 2.5D side scroller demo using Unreal Engine 4.
As I was employed during the day animating, I decided to focus uni hours to learn more about supporting disciplines of game animation.
My focus was rigging, basic player animation, and implementing locomotion, interaction and SFX blueprints. I also maintained the team's Perforce and GitHub, and assisted with general blueprinting bugs.

Basic Locomotion Graph for Player Character

Example of SFX being implemented in the Sequencer, through Sound Cues via blueprints.
This was a tag-team with friends for a weekend Game Jam, with the theme "Lost and Found". We went for a raccoon collecting trash that they considered treasure! Mainly rigged and animated the raccoon and enemies for Unity.
My first Game Jam, done with friends over a weekend! The theme was "Calculate".
We went for a strategy game, where you slingshot a squirel into space to collect nuts, while considering aim, velocity, and the gravitational pull of the obstacles. Rigged and animated the squirrel and slingshot.
