MARIA ROBERTSON
3D ANIMATOR
Below are some animation tools I found myself wanting and learning enough MEL to make. They're rough, but work for me!
Feel free to try them too.
This was made to help animate an exercise with a snake physique. I wanted to sculpt poses as if warping them, rather than counter-animating FK controls.
With tips from Richard Lico's "Space Switching" course, and Kiel Figgins on script approaches, this is able to generate an animated curve based on keyed controls. It can then be shaped by using Soft Selection on its curve verticies.
A script to delete selected keys in the Graph Editor, but only if the cursor is above the panel.
If no keys are selected, and/or the cursor is not above, it will just delete any keys on the current frame, regardless of selected keys in the Graph Editor.
Pins selected object/s to a temp locator, to be moved in worldspace. When the script runs again, the constrained object/s is keyed on the current frame, and pin is then deleted.
